This week, that happened to include Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe, where the South Lake Tahoe property has finally completed its major renovations — including the opening of High Dive, the new pool and lounge experience.

What Actually Changed at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe
This wasn't a paint-and-carpet refresh. Caesars Entertainment put roughly $200 million into transforming the South Lake Tahoe property, with the second phase kicking off in February 2026 and the completed resort marking its grand opening on July 6, 2026.
The work ran from the lobby through the casino floor — new furnishings, refreshed gaming, a new High Limit Room, a new World Series of Poker room. But the piece most people will actually feel is High Dive.
High Dive Pool & Lounge is built as a year-round alpine space rather than a summer-only deck: a heated pool, bubbling hot tubs, cabana rentals, loungers, and an indoor/outdoor bar that opens up when the weather cooperates and closes in around fireplaces when it doesn't. In Tahoe, that distinction matters. A pool deck that only works ten weeks a year is decoration. One that works in November is an amenity.
Standing on that deck, the thing that struck me was how much better the experience is than what was there before. They opened everything up. The sightlines now run straight out to the pines.
Working From the New High Dive Pool & Lounge
For Bonsai Marketing Company, "remote work" has taken on an entirely different meaning.
While I might be walking through a newly renovated resort, sitting poolside, driving through Tahoe, meeting with a client, or grabbing a few hours with the family, Bonsai doesn't simply shut down until I get back to a desk.
The business moves with me.

I'll say the unglamorous part out loud, because it's the reason I spent a week there instead of an afternoon: the outlets.
There are a lot of them, in the places you'd actually sit. Add real seating, a bar-bite menu, good screens for catching a game, and fireplaces for the cold months, and you've got somewhere you can genuinely spend an hour or an entire afternoon with a laptop without negotiating for a power strip.
That combination is rarer than it should be. Most resort spaces are designed to move you along. This one is designed to let you stay.
Work Hard. Play Hard. Stay Connected.
That doesn't mean every trip becomes another day at the office.
Quite the opposite.
The goal of building better technology should be to create more freedom, not another reason to stare at a screen.
So sometimes the mission is client strategy. Sometimes it's building the next Bonsai system. And sometimes it's checking out the new High Dive, getting some sun, and enjoying the fact that the systems are still doing their jobs.
That's a pretty good definition of progress.
Why South Lake Tahoe Became the Office
The bigger idea is something we're increasingly obsessed with at Bonsai:

Not because somebody can answer email from a laptop.
